Posting Guardrails
Write the post in a note first. Remove unique numbers, uncommon phrases, niche tools, and timing that only a small group would recognize.
Avoid replying with fresh details to defend credibility. Extra context often narrows the identity set faster than the original post.
Revisit threads after the issue is resolved. Delete anything that no longer provides value or could affect coworkers who did not consent to the story.
Specific stories
Rare incidents, exact numbers, and internal names are the fastest path from anonymous to identifiable.
General advice
Generic career advice, broad salary ranges, and non-unique lessons carry less identity risk.
